Lilavati

About

An independent publishing house

Lilavati takes its name from the twelfth-century treatise of Bhāskara II — a book of arithmetic written, by tradition, for his daughter. In that spirit we publish work that is exact and humane: mathematics, essays, translation, and poetry.

Alongside our catalogue we keep a free Library: a curated repository of copyright-free and openly-licensed books. We believe the classics of the field should be within reach of every student, so we gather them, vet their rights, and link to full texts at no cost.

Lilavati is based in Kolkata, India. To reach us, write to helpdesk@cheenta.com.
